Learning at The Global Village
“I see a world in the future in which we understand that all life is related to us and we treat that life with great humility and respect.” – David Suzuki
Students learn through an innovative, international framework called the Common Ground Collaborative (CGC). This framework is used in 48 international schools around the world and The Global Village is the very first elementary school in the United States to join this collaborative framework. Our students develop self awareness and effective social skills in addition to academics.
The CGC Framework
The Common Ground Collaborative is a non-profit, global community of sense-makers, innovators, educators and partners who share a common goal. After decades of disconnected curriculum, disconnected schools, and disconnected conversations, we are co-creating smart, systemic, sustainable solutions.
Understanding languages is an important part of understanding others and our world. The Global Village offers students an opportunity to learn both Spanish and French through immersion for two hours per day.
Our Innovation Lab is a place where students are provided the opportunity to develop the skills they need to thrive in their future careers, from technical skills to critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication and collaboration. We are teaching a student-friendly design thinking concept of understanding a problem, creating a solution, testing and revising, and once perfected, sharing it with the world. Students explore robotics, coding and other design projects.
